Gallery Opening
Costa Rica - Spring 2017
Butterfly Art Gallery
Our new gallery in Costa Rica will feature butterflies native to the region. Be sure to revisit this page for updates about the gallery and our upcoming special Costa Rica Collection.
We are currently working with local Costa Rican zoologists who dedicate their lives to the production of butterflies and farming them. Thousands of people travel abroad each year looking to view and enjoy butterflies and moths. Eco-tours bring valuable income to developing countries around the world. Butterfly farming requires intact forest, thus providing an economic incentive to conserve habitats. As butterflies are bred and reared in controlled and licensed farms and enclosures, farming aids to maintain the health of wild populations while providing inventory that does not negatively impact the environment or biodiversity. Butterfly farming allows local community to diversify their income while also raising awareness among residents and decision makers of the benefits of conservation. We support production systems that are friendly to the environment allowing for higher quality of inventory, while promoting job growth and creating awareness to new generations of respect for wildlife. |
